
Dana Bowman
My Story
Dana is a retired First Class Sergent with the U. S. Army where he was a Special Forces Soldier and a member of the U.S. Army’s elite parachute team, the Golden Knights. Dana is also a double amputee. Dana lost his legs in an accident during the annual Golden Knights training in Yuma, Arizona in 1994. Dana has an amazing story of spirit and determination. It’s not the disability, it’s the ability. Dana has over 2500 hours of flight time with 8 different ratings including Rotocraft and Instrumental Helicopter, Private Airplane - SEL, Seaplane, FAA Class I Medical: no restrictions, Commercial Balloon/Raven ANX8, Firefly 7B, High performance and Complex. He has a B.S. in Aeronautics from the University of North Dakota. Dana is a motivational speaker both locally and nationally and professionally rated in the United States Parachute Association since 1991 with over 5000 jumps. He is a member of the aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, American Airlines Mentoring Program and Seaplane Pilots Association, Civil Air Patrol, National Honor Society, EAA, Balloon Federation of America, and the FAA Pilot Proficiency Award Wings Phase II. Dana is President and Founder of the Halo for Freedom Warrior Foundation, a 501c3 organization for Veterans and Law enforcement and honors them yearly at a special four-day event and banquet.
